Vacancies:

SENIOR ACCOUNTS ADMINISTRATOR

Due to an impending retirement, a vacancy has arisen for our small central Edinburgh accountancy practice.

The successful candidate will have an accountancy background, fluent English both written and spoken, be experienced, self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. 

The position includes fee preparation, cashier and cash flow management duties. Knowledge of Xero accounting software for accounts preparation, VAT and payroll and ideally knowledge of Star Practice Management or other time and fees software systems is desirable.

The salary will be competitive and related to experience. Predominantly office based but flexible working options in some cases available. Opportunities for study and CPD are supported.

EXPERIENCED ACCOUNTANT

An experienced accountant, with practice experience, is required for this busy accountancy practice.  The role is one of accounts assistant manager/supervisor in a small accounts team.

This position would suit a candidate with the following background/experience:

  • Professional qualification (CA, ACCA etc) - part qualified WILL be considered.
  • A strong technical knowledge of current statutory accounting regulations and issues – FRS105, 102, charities and trusts.
  • Ability to train, supervise and motivate junior staff undertaking professional qualifications.
  • Excellent communication skills with initiative and good problem-solving ability.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word used in a paperless office.
  • Experience of Iris, Xero and Sage would be an advantage.

The client base is highly varied and will provide challenges.  An ability to work in a small team, engage with clients and use initiative is very important.  Remuneration will be competitive.


ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

An accounts assistant is required for this busy accountancy practice.  A working knowledge of Xero, Sage and Iris together with experience of preparing management and year end statutory accounts, payroll and VAT is preferred.


These are full time positions, but part time or flexible working hours would be considered.
